KRIYA IS A SHORT AND SIMPLE WAY TO COSMIC CONSCIOUSNESS
Millions of people nowadays are engaged in various types of Yoga practice, belonging to different schools of Yoga. But Yoga practice is seen mostly as a set of body exercises.
Nevertheless, Yoga which was practiced in India for five thousand years, has immeasurably great potential and is heavy with deep sacral meaning.
Contrary to common misconception, Kriya Yoga, like Vedas, - isn’t an Indian science. There is a version that Kriya was studied by Eastern and Western prophets. It was also practiced by Pythagoras, Archimedes, Leonardo da Vinci and Karl Jung. An ancient sage Patanjali mentioned it in his Yoga Sutras.
Kriya is a physical, spiritual and scientific method, facilitating body, soul and mind development, which contributes to one’s Self-realization.
For centuries, Kriya was conveyed by word of mouth from a teacher to a disciple, through initiation. To avoid perversion, it was passed along to people in the form of “kriyas”, or techniques which had to be practiced accurately.

Paramahansa Yogananda, the great Indian Yogi and teacher, who brought in Kriya to America and Europe, wrote in his book “Autobiography of a Yogi” (Chapter 26 “The Theory of Kriya Yoga”): “Kriya teaches how to awake life force by magnetizing the spine. It shows how to transform this life force into irradiant and unifying spiritual force which, in turn, will facilitate physical and mental development of a person and will lead to a renewal of physical and mental bodies”.
